Amanda creates puppets and props for both stage and television and has performed on and off-Broadway as an actor and puppeteer. Her puppetry designs have been presented on Broadway at the Walter Kerr and off-Broadway at the Ahmanson Theater, Berkeley Rep, Lincoln Center LCT3, The Vineyard, The Public Theater, New York Theater Workshop, New York Live Arts, Flint Rep, Abrons Art Center, Five Myles, BAX (Brooklyn Arts Exchange), Bushwick Starr, HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, Soho Playhouse and at the Great Small Works’ International Toy Theater Festival at St. Ann's Warehouse. Amanda is a MacDowell Colony fellow, and her work has been awarded grants & residencies from The Henson Foundation and the Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
Collaborators include theater companies Elevator Repair Service, Half Straddle, Collaboration Town and theater artists Pam Mackinnon, David Zinn, Lee Breuer, Theodora Skipitares, Basil Twist, Alex Timbers and Lee Sunday Evans. She is a member of Sibyl Kempson's 7 Daughters of Eve Theater & Performance Company, and she studied puppetry and performance art with award-winning artist and MacArthur recipient Dan Hurlin at Sarah Lawrence College.
